About Me:
I have been collecting autographs for over 45 years. I owned an Art & Collectibles Gallery in Rancho Mirage California for over 25 years. Before that I was an avid autograph collector. Over those years that I have been a collector I was also an appraiser and did appraisals for my customers and even for insurance companies. I have authenticated many signatures and pieces of artwork from Monet to Picasso, Red Skelton and many more including Elvis. I framed art for the likes of Red Skelton, President Gerald Ford (Ford for over 15 years) and President Bill Clinton as well as Lucille Ball, Loretta Young, Ginger Rogers, George Montgomery, Dinah Shore and Walter Annenberg, Bob Kane (Batman Artist), The Baseball Hall of Fame, Graeme Baxter “World Famous Golf Artist” and so many more. I also framed a Babe Ruth Display that was donated to the Baseball Hall of Fame. I had a customer that collected items that traveled to the moon. I also framed a set of pens and quills that go back as far as President Washington. I have met many of these people in person and received autographs as gift from many of them as well. I have autographs of Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and about 900 others. I bought Elvis and Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix and others from an estate auction in Germany, United Kingdom, United States for many, many years from massive collections that were auctioned off. This is the results of 40+ years of collecting. Back then in the 60’s & 70’s 80’s there was not as much paperwork on provenance on collectibles. I paid a fair amount of money for these items and know that they are original autographs.

As an experiment I have decided to send a few of my autographs out for authentication, keep in mind I did see these “signed in person”. I sent them out to professional authenticators recommended by eBay. They claim to be experts in the field and this is what I found. They were often wrong telling me that some of the autographs that I sent them (even though I stood there when they were signed) they told me that they were not to be authentic. Please beware of some of the authenticators, they themselves do not have perfect records of authenticating. One of the biggest autograph authenticating companies was caught on FOX morning show authenticating a group of several signed photo’s, he authenticated them all as original signatures. The morning show host told this famous authenticator that these were done by the art department. What does that tell you? You need to ask this question do any of these companies have any people degreed in forensic science. I would be willing to bet very few to none. Another famous company was caught authenticating sports autographs as original, again not original. These companies charge large amounts to authenticate and yet have been caught authenticating forgeries. You just have to trust the seller has been doing this for a long time and has a perfect to near perfect tract record. I do believe mistakes can be made but too many are just so wrong in the authentication of some items.

To understand the reason that I am selling my collection is that this was always something I would do in my retirement. I make it a policy not to overcharge for what I sell I want to make a small profit but enjoy sharing my collectibles. I see some items out there with such unbelievable prices. I do hope this might answer any questions you might have about me. I ship in wood crates to protect the contents from Post Office Gorillas. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
